Resettlement Outreach Aftercare Development ServiceROADS is a programme of recovery and maintenance for those people living in the Poole locality who make the life changing decision to maintain a drug free existence. The service provides one-to-one support to clients who have been through or are going through a treatment process as part of an agreed care plan. Individuals identified as needing ongoing support to develop life skills to cope with a non-using lifestyle will also be supported and assisted to look at further education, employment options, leisure/ social skills and where appropriate accommodation. ROADS undertakes a developmental role, networking with existing agencies to identify support and advice needs to clients in the area. Although the Poole Aftercare in the Community Service (PACS), has been in operation since January 2002, the ROADS facet of this holistic Aftercare service came into existence in early 2004. This new part of the service is more specific in meeting the needs of clients coming out of institutions, such as prisons, requiring support. The ROADS Project will include structured therapeutic activity that will challenge and inspire the clients to help keep a focus on their recovery and will include the opportunity for clients to engage in these activities. |
